Profile – Permanent Makeup Machines FAQ's |
| |
| Q. What
is the difference between the Merlin, Mozart and Magellan? |
| |
Merlin
– Controlled manually and by foot pedal. Has disposable parts
from the motor down. |
| |
Mozart – Less expensive. This machine has three parts to it, for disposable cap, needle and sleeve. Great machine to have for back-up. |
| |
Magellan – Has one operating
function. The structure of the machine is similar, but used with foot pedal only. Longer machine life. |
| Q. Why
does the machine seem to “stall” during a procedure? |
| |
Sometimes, when assembling
the disposable parts, the transmission shaft may not be in properly. Sometimes the technician is not experienced enough in regulating the speed,
power, etc. Refer to the Trouble Shooting page. |
| Q.
Why are the machines so expensive but lightweight? |
| |
Our machines are designed
specifically for permanent makeup application, not like tattoos that are pounded in through heavier machines. The design is beneficial not only to
protect the client’s skin from trauma, but also for the comfort of the technician who is doing the procedure.
Delicate areas around the eyes and lips require a much different machine. |
| Q.
Technicians who fear if they do too good of a job ask how can they get repeat
business if the client doesn't need to come back? |
| |
We recommend doing the first procedure light. The result will still be professional and even, but the customer
will might want to come back for more intense color later. The overall job of the machine
is to embed the pigment smoothly and properly. Don’t get a reputation for doing a messy job,
instead, let the client be happy with the result but encourage them to come back for a more dramatic look. Other
clients expect permanent results after paying the service fee. They do NOT want the product
to fade fast or peel off after the skin has healed. |
| Q.
I want to be able to clean my machine, but it seems like the paint comes
off. Why, and what can I do? |
| |
We are in the process
of changing the stainless steel formula used in making the machines to a
much more durable material. In the meantime, you should always use a new, disposable
machine guard with every application. |
