Product Profile – Permanent Makeup Machines- Features & Benefits
Features:

The Mosaic and The Merlin: Our most popular machines, accommodates both ROUND and
FLAT needles, and have a powerful rotary motor, providing ultra smooth, noise free operation.
The motor section is sealed at the factory so that it can be cold solution sterilized.
The Mosaic features a 10,000 rpm and the Merlin has 8,000 rpm.
An optional foot pedal is also available for hands free speed control.

Size: Approximately 3 1/2 inches
•Can be autoclaved (Re-used), or used with disposable parts for time-saving convenience
• Disposable parts from the motor down help to eliminate cross contamination
• This is the only rotary machine on the market that rotates up and down . The design moves the ..needle up and down for an “in and out” procedure, rather than zig-zag.
The Benefits of This Design Are:
• A better, more proper penetration of pigment into the skin
• Less trauma.
• Side to side motions can damage the skin
• Up and down only makes a pinhole, thus better healing of area
• Less touch-ups needed
• Less fading means more professional results
Our state of the art needle tubes easily snap into the front casing, and when assembled to the motor, provides stability, which will virtually eliminate vibration from the motor. The pentagon shaped opening on the front casing effectively seals and resists any back flow of water or pigment, and therefore, no chance of cross contamination of fluids. The tube can accommodate round or flat needles. This feature makes the interchangeable process of designing and outlining a breeze!

The needle sleeves not only protect the needle, but are ergonomically shaped to reduce slippage and
extended comfort for the hand. Merlin comes with a metal sleeve which can be autoclaved (sterilized), OR individually packaged, pre-sterilized disposable, sleeves can be used.

Our specially designed needle caps also accommodate both round and flat needles, and eliminate splatter. The precision + engineered tip holds the needle snuggly and allows the proper amount of pigment flow for each needle configuration. Just behind the tip serves as a holding area for pigment. It creates an airflow that allows pigment to flow smoothly, maximizing pigment deposit, for the best possible result. As an alternative, “flat only” caps and “round only” caps are available for technicians who are used to working with one needle design shape at a time.

The Airflow Cap:
Not enough air causes a ‘vacuum’ effect and sucks up pigment. Too much air can force pigment down too hard and will splatter, and less pigment gets to the skin. Less pigment in the skin will cause the color to fade. Merlin caps regulate the airflow for an even amount of pigment and better result. When we say less touch-ups, we mean it, because we did it right the first time!
Barrier Film Roll:
For total protection of items that you will handle or reach for during the procedure and from contamination to your machine, we recommend that you use new, disposable, Barrier Film with every procedure.

Besides the cap, sleeve, front casing, transmission, and needles being all disposable from the motor down, the Barrier Film can be used as a Machine Guard to insure total sterilization from cross contamination of blood, fluids, pigment, and stains from your gloves.

Using the Film Roll as a Machine Guard :
The permanent makeup machine is a professional tool. It is important to keep it sterilized, clean, and looking new!

Other Types of Machines:
SoftTap Hand/Manual – Dermographics uses this (hand) machine. (This client uses our pigments!!)
      - www.cosmeticspermanent.com has digital system with freezing unit for numbing
      - 3 year warranty
      - PMC Pigments and equipment made in Germany
      - Has Titanium or Kyro Liner
      - Uses Hygenic disposable modules
      - Allows for easy, attachable and adjustable needle depth
      - SoftTap is disposable and must be thrown away each time
      - Needles cost about $4.00, and the unit itself is around $15.- 20.00.
      - It can only be used with flat needles so more likelihood of scarring.
      - A lot of touch-ups are needed because the penetration is not deep enough and is hard
      - on the operator’s hand
      - Needles have to be changed each time for each new color used. Time consuming.
* Merlin does the same quality of work without need to press so hard. Result is very similar, but with
..more versatility, comfort for the technician, and convenience.
    Coil – (TriLab)
      - Coil was originally designed for the body and is very strong. Price is around $700-
800.00. Loses it’s sharpness each procedure. The Coil is LOUD and heavy sounding. The
technician has to ‘pull back’ at times. With the Merlin, you can actually ‘press in’ gently,
for a more soft appearance and comfortable procedure.
      - Needles become dull. Our Accupoint Series remain sharp throughout the procedure
each time.
Nouveau Contour – Only tips are disposable.
      - 3 yr warranty on microprocessor, 1 yr on the handpiece
      - Has digital system for consistent speed, even with resistant skin, but it is not necessarily
a good idea to have a “cruise control” device operating, when sometimes a lighter or
heavier touch is needed.
      - Needle & Needle tube are integrated as one disposable cartridge and independent of
the handpiece. They claim to have “internal” diaphragms in place to halt and prevent
fluids or contaminants from entering into the handpiece. BUT> Since the machine itself
cannot ever be taken apart, how can you know there is no backflow? There is still a
strong likelihood of cross-contamination.
      - Made in Germany, so it is very expensive. What if something needs to be replaced?
There are no disposable parts on the machine itself so it must be sent to the “factory”.
The machine display is only a power unit, a very basic motor with a fancy package, has
cross contamination factors and very expensive.
Mei-Cha – Machine is similar, but ours is a more advanced, engineered design.
      - Parts and needles are much more expensive (approx. $4.00 per needle)
      - Pigment is very expensive and smaller quantity (12cc) Ours is (25cc)
      - Has computerized power unit for consistent implantation.

KP – Products are made in Viet Nam and needles have been known to be rusted in some cases!
Watch for quality and workmanship on this product.
      - Pigments are watery.
      - The manufacturer sells this to the public very cheap, so what would even be the benefit
of a Distributor trying to be a Distributor?
At Biotouch, we give our Distributorships customer service, technique, and support.
Tattoo Machines - This one is like a heavy gun! Customers claim they have gotten tattoos for a
much cheaper price and wonder why it is so much more expensive for brows or lips.
Why? Because our products are gentle and soft, and our machines prevent trauma to the face. Body
parts are much different. The wrist action involved with other machines causes a repeated “flex” that
over time is damaging to the technician’s hand and wrist area. Talk about Carpal Tunnel!
Our machines are designed to keep both technician and client comfortable.

* If you use the Merlin at a higher speed with more pigment, it will look more like a tattoo.
TIPS – Follow up with the client after they have purchased a machine. Make an additional sale or sell them our machine only.

Mention to them that if they are in the middle of a procedure and the machine breaks, what are they going to do? If they feel Merlin is too costly for them, offer the Mozart as a backup, but them know that it is semi-disposable.
Compare our product values without addressing any disadvantage over one machine or the other. For example, don’t put down the Mozart in hopes of selling the Merlin. Rather, just be factual about their differences not “disadvantages”. They may change their mind and purchase the Merlin anyway!
